Forget fearing old age, it seems as women grow older those on lower incomes are more likely to fear the threat of violence, a Queensland University of Technology nationwide study has found.
An international study is suggesting that night-time noise from aircraft or traffic raises blood pressure even while people are asleep.
PBS Newshour's global health unit on Monday began a four-part series examining major health challenges in Indonesia, which "sheds light on the diverse nation's changing political landscape, deplorable conditions for people there with severe mental illness, the effect of rising food prices and research into a plant that could be used as a male contraceptive," the Newshour's "The Rundown" blog states.
Persons who have had chicken pox are prone to develop shingles with the Herpes zoster virus that lays dormant within them. A new study has shown that getting shingles - a painful skin condition caused by the virus could also raise the risk of heart disease such as heart attacks and strokes in individuals. The study was published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
