Riverain Medical, a leading image enhancement and computer-aided detection company dedicated to providing physicians with tools to assist in image interpretation, announced today that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared the SoftView Enhanced Chest Imaging technology.
Researchers from the Department of Orthopedics of Tongji Hospital at Tongji University in Shanghai have successfully used a nanobiomaterial called layered double hydroxide (LDH) to inhibit the inflammatory environment surrounding spinal cord injuries in mice, accelerating regeneration of neurons and reconstruction of the neural circuit in the spine.
One of the things that happens to our bodies as we age is that certain cells start to accumulate. So-called senescent cells – cells that "retire" and stop dividing but refuse to die – are always present, and they even serve some important functions, such as in wound repair.
Bob Wilson is not a quitter, and the Parkinson's Center of Oregon at Oregon Health & Science University will benefit from his steely determination October 10 when he and other members of "Team Bob" mount specially constructed bicycles for a fund-raising outing at The Springs at Tanasbourne.
A new study conducted by the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) and the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) found that the daily intake of grains, such as those from whole-wheat bread or brown rice reduces the risk of colorectal cancer; the risk is expected to decrease with the increase in the amount of gains consumed.
