Henry Schein, Inc., the world's largest provider of health care products and services to office-based dental, animal health and medical practitioners, announced today that it has been selected as the recipient of the Corporate Leader Award of the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds.
Unprecedented single molecule imaging movies of living cell membranes, taken by a research team based at Kyoto University and the University of New Mexico, have clarified a decades-old enigma surrounding receptor molecule behaviors. The results, appearing in the latest issue of the Journal of Cell Biology, promise to open the door to new possibilities for drug development.
"Access to affordable lifesaving medicines will be threatened where they are needed most - in parts of the developing world - if the U.S. insists on implementing restrictive intellectual property policies in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade agreement," states a press release from Doctors Without Borders.
Twenty-seven outstanding young researchers have received an SNSF Starting Grant. The funding level, duration and funding conditions are in line with those of the European Research Council (ERC). This transitional measure of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) offered the Swiss research community an adequate substitute for ERC grants.
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit some nursing homes especially hard - including in the hotspot state of Michigan. Hundreds of deaths of residents in homes from Seattle to Boston have raised concerns about how well facilities are protecting the 1.3 million older Americans who live in them.
