A fertility watchdog in Britain, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), has given approval for the extension of embryo screening to cover a wider range of mutated genes, in the main those which raise the risk of cancer in later life.
Emerging Healthcare Solutions, Inc. announced today that the Company has signed an option with Regenevita, owner of the right to license Neo Natal Progenitor Cell Expansion Technology in Latin America. The core technology on which the Regenevita technology is based was originally developed by NASA, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and was sub-licensed to Regenevita for use with Neo Natal Progenitor Cell Expansion.
Working with human brain tissue samples and genetically engineered mice, Johns Hopkins Medicine researchers together with colleagues at the National Institutes of Health, the University of California San Diego Shiley-Marcos Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, Columbia University, and the Institute for Basic Research in Staten Island say that consequences of low levels of the protein NPTX2 in the brains of people with Alzheimer's disease (AD) may change the pattern of neural activity in ways that lead to the learning and memory loss that are hallmarks of the disease.
Treating back problems, one of the most bothersome medical problems, cost Americans more than $30 billion in 2007- up from $16 billion in 1997 (in 2007 dollars), according to the latest News and Numbers from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
