Health Care Management China today announced that Co-Founder and Vice Chairman Derek Muhs has been awarded "Best Brand in Private Health Care Center in China" by the Awards Jury of the 6th Annual CMO ASIA AWARDS, held in Singapore on August 11, 2015.
Research led by Nicolas Bazan, MD, PhD, Boyd Professor, Ernest C. and Yvette C. Villere Chair of Retinal Degeneration Research, and Director of the Neuroscience Center of Excellence at LSU Health New Orleans, has discovered gene interactions that determine whether cells live or die in such conditions as age-related macular degeneration and ischemic stroke.
"U.S. lawmakers and international aid officials have expressed mounting concern about the slow recovery of the hemisphere's poorest country ... Despite ambitious plans to 'build back better,' as U.N. and U.S. officials promised, the reconstruction has been hobbled by a lack of coordination and cash and by a virtually incapacitated Haitian government, officials and experts say," according to the article, which outlines the challenges facing the rebuilding effort and the reasons why pledged aid has been slow to reach the country.
Working with mice, researchers at Johns Hopkins have added to evidence that a commonly prescribed antidepressant called fluoxetine helps stroke victims improve movement and coordination, and possibly why.
