Johns Hopkins Medicine has become the latest academic medical center to acquire the Naviscan Positron Emission Mammography (PEM) scanner. The device will be utilized by Richard Wahl, M.D., F.A.C.R, Professor of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, in pre-clinical and translational research for the development of novel radiotracers.
The Community Prevention Partnership of Berks County, Pa. - which runs a program that provides Hispanic women with education about HIV and sexually transmitted infection prevention, as well as domestic violence - has received a five-year, $335,000 grant from HHS to continue the program, the Reading Eagle reports.
The Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) is appealing the decision by a Ministry of Labour inspector to not issue orders against London Health Sciences Centre or make recommendations for improvements in procedures and practices following the death of one of its registered nurses of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
A pathway known for its role in regulating adult stem cells has been shown to be important for hair follicle proliferation, but contrary to previous studies, is not required within hair follicle stem cells for their survival, according to researchers with the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
