YM BioSciences Inc., today reported updated interim safety and efficacy results from the Phase I/II study of its JAK1/JAK2 inhibitor, CYT387, for the treatment of myelofibrosis.
Decision Resources, one of the world's leading research and advisory firms for pharmaceutical and healthcare issues, finds that delays in the U.S. approval and launch of Theravance/Astellas's Vibativ (telavancin) for the treatment of nosocomial pneumonia will reduce by more than half the commercial impact that it was previously forecasted to garner in the methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) drug market.
The simple intervention of providing women who are having unprotected sex with a home pregnancy test could have a substantial impact on the health of potential newborns, according to a Michigan State University study.
Researchers at Umea University have developed a model for evidence-based predictions of the mosquito-borne dengue virus. Results show that global travel and climate change increase the risk for epidemics of dengue, and potentially other climate-sensitive infectious diseases carried by mosquitos, spreading into temperate areas. This according to a doctoral dissertation at Umeå University.
In a world first, University of Sydney researchers from the ANZAC Research Institute at Concord Hospital, in collaboration with colleagues at Kings College London, have found a new gene abnormality that causes the fatal paralysis, motor neuron disease (MND).
