Results from a systematic review and meta-analysis of published studies suggest that brain levels of glutamate plus glutamine are elevated in bipolar disorder patients compared with mentally healthy individuals.
For nearly two decades following the 1991 Gulf War, doctors noticed a trend in many of veterans of that conflict: an unexplainable cluster of symptoms including but not limited to chronic fatigue, memory loss, and depression. It wasn't until 2008 that a scientific panel from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs concluded that a third of American troops who served in the Gulf War were suffering from combinations of these symptoms, now recognized collectively as Gulf War Illness (GWI).
LecTec Corporation (OTCBB: LECT) announced today that it has reached a settlement with Endo Pharmaceuticals Inc. on outstanding patent litigation related to LecTec's U.S. Patent Nos. 5,536,263 and 5,741,510. Endo Pharmaceuticals has agreed to make a one–time, $23 million payment for the exclusive license to these two patents for use in the field of prescription pain medicines and treatment.
