EffRx Pharmaceuticals SA today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved BINOSTO (alendronate sodium) Effervescent Tablets, previously known as EX101, for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, and as a treatment to increase bone mass in men with osteoporosis. EffRx anticipates that BINOSTO will be commercially available in the United States in the third quarter of 2012.
Earlier this year, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy® (NABP®) was introduced to the AWARxE campaign, which was created and implemented by the Minnesota Pharmacists Foundation in 2007. Moved by the power of the campaign, NABP obtained the AWARxE program so that its message could be shared on a national level.
Support for carers of people living with dementia will be bolstered under a new and innovative patient-centered approach led by Flinders Caring Futures Institute researchers.
It's well known in conventional biology that during the process of mammalian cell division, or mitosis, a mother cell divides equally into two daughter cells. But when it comes to cancer, say UCLA researchers, mother cells may be far more prolific.
