Angiochem announced today that the Food & Drug Association (FDA) has granted both orphan drug and fast track designation to ANG1005 a novel paclitaxel-peptide drug conjugate leveraging the low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 1 (LRP-1) pathway to cross the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and enter cancer, for the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme (GBM).
On the football field, the hockey rink or wrestling mat, an athletes' head can take a beating - and a University of Michigan neurologist is leading the charge to help doctors who treat the brain better understand those sports injuries.
The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have resulted in a growing number of soldiers evacuated to the United States for comprehensive care for physical and psychological trauma.
