An atomic level analysis has revealed how two classes of calcium channel blockers, widely prescribed for heart disease patients, produce separate therapeutic effects through their actions at different sites on the calcium channel molecule.
The BRAF inhibitor dabrafenib shows promising results for treatment of advanced melanoma, both alone and in combination with the MEK inhibitor trametinib, show results from two studies presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
College students who take frequently abused medications without a prescription appear to have a higher risk for drug abuse than those who use such therapies for medical reasons, according to a report in the March issue of Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, one of the JAMA/Archives journals.
The study, by Australian researchers Catriona Bradshaw, MD, and colleagues at the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, is the first major case-control study to simultaneously address all currently hypothesized causes of NGU.
