China Botanic Pharmaceutical Inc., a developer, manufacturer and distributor of botanical products, bio-pharmaceuticals and traditional Chinese medicines ("TCM") in China, today announced financial results for the three months ended January 31, 2011, and reaffirmed guidance for its full fiscal year ending October 31, 2011.

Dubbed "cathepsin cannibalism," the phenomenon may help explain problems with drugs that have been developed to inhibit the effects of these powerful proteases.
Hopkins researchers have found that patients experiencing vision problems following cataract removal and intraocular lens implantation (CE-IOL) may have better results from laser refractive surgery, which spares them potential complications of lens implant replacement and the inconvenience of glasses.
A new, low-cost software tool has nursing homes and home health agencies — with or without an electronic health record —contributing patient assessment information to any health information exchange (HIE).
