In what is believed to be one of the largest studies of a rare disorder known as primary cutaneous gamma delta T-cell lymphoma, Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey investigators and other collaborators examined characteristics, treatment patterns and outcomes of the disease, and determined accurate diagnosis of the disease requires ongoing analysis.
According to new survey results, when 2007 Cardiometabolic Health Congress participants were asked what guidelines they follow for treating patients with multiple cardiovascular and metabolic risk factors, the largest group of respondents indicated that they didn't follow any particular set of guidelines and that better guidelines are needed.
"Of nearly 4.5 million military retirees and their families, about three-quarters are estimated to have access to health insurance through a civilian employer or group. But more than two million of them stay on Tricare," the military's lifetime health insurance program, The New York Times reports. Enrollment in Tricare, which costs less than what many private employers ask for in premiums, is expected to grow "as the costs of private health care continue to climb."
