The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday said it will not consider a challenge to a New York law that requires employers who offer prescription drug plans to provide coverage for FDA-approved contraceptives for women, the New York Times reports (Greenhouse, New York Times, 10/2).
"Johnson & Johnson [J&J] said Monday that it is seeking U.S. approval for the first new type of medicine to fight deadly tuberculosis [TB] in more than four decades," the Associated Press reports, adding, "The experimental drug, called bedaquiline, also would be the first medicine specifically for treating multi-drug resistant tuberculosis."
CDC last week sent out letters to several chain pharmacies that offer no-cost prescription antibiotics to low-income consumers urging them to promote responsible use of antibiotics, the New York Times reports.
As COVID-19 began to surge in the Boston area earlier this year, new infection control measures were put in place at Brigham and Women's Hospital to protect patients and staff. Over the ensuing weeks, infection control policies continued to evolve, eventually encompassing:
