As Prime Minister Harper and other world leaders gather this week at the United Nations General Assembly, a new poll shows Canadians care deeply about Canada's efforts to save the lives children and mothers in developing countries who are dying of preventable causes.
Silicon Biosystems, S.p.A., a provider of specialized molecular and cell biology technology, today announced that it has formed a U.S. subsidiary operation, Silicon Biosystems, Inc., to be headquartered in San Diego, California. The newly formed business will focus on commercial operations and the development of the North American research and clinical diagnostics markets for the company's DEPArray™ technology platform.
Quark Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a world leader in the discovery and development of RNAi-based therapeutics, today announced the closing of a private financing by the existing investors of Quark totaling an aggregate of $10 million. The investors are funds of the prestigious SBI Holdings Group in Japan. In connection with the financing, Mr. Yoshitaka Kitao, CEO of SBI Holdings, Inc. and Mr. Robert Takeuchi, Director of SBI Investment Co., Ltd. will become members of the Quark board of directors.
