A new study has explored the role of relative humidity in the transmission of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) from person to person indoors. The study titled, "An Overview on the Role of Relative Humidity in Airborne Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in Indoor Environments," is published in the latest issue of the journal Aerosol and Air Quality Research.
"Almost certainly, in its deliberations [to select a new Pope,] the conclave of cardinals will consider a number of difficult and well-publicized problems now facing the Catholic Church," Peter Hotez, co-editor in chief of PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, writes in the journal's "Speaking of Medicine" blog.
They burst out of toilet bubbles, swim across drinking water, spread through coughs. Tiny infectious microbes-from the virus that causes COVID-19 to waterborne bacteria-kill millions of people around the world each year.
