Researchers at Jefferson Medical College and Jefferson's Kimmel Cancer Center in Philadelphia have used PET imaging to see hyperactive cancer genes inside breast tumors in laboratory animals, marking the first time such gene activity has been observed from outside the body.
Ipsen and Spirogen Ltd. announced today that the parties have entered into a new agreement superseding their 2003 contractual relationship regarding the DNA minor groove binder SJG-136 (now known as SG2000).

These are the typical excuses one might expect when medical professionals are asked why they fail to use online error-reporting systems designed to improve patient safety and the quality of care. But, Johns Hopkins investigators found instead that the most common reason among radiation oncologists was fear of getting into trouble and embarrassment.
Neovasc Inc., today announced that it has received Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) approval to export its processed pericardial tissue products to Europe as an "intermediate product" under the requirements of Annex I of EC Regulation # 2007/2006. This approval allows European customers to import Neovasc's porcine and bovine pericardial tissue materials for use in the manufacture of their own medical devices.
George Berci, MD, FACS, has received the highest honor bestowed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), with the largest, most prestigious surgical organization in the nation recognizing him as a pioneer who developed the endoscopic and laparoscopic techniques that provide the basis of all minimally invasive surgeries performed today.
