An important lesson in the moral education of children could be as close as the book in their hands. Stories matter. And they can play a role in shifting the importance of particular moral values in young audiences, according to the results of a new study.
Arrowhead Research Corporation today announced publication in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS) of a study using Nanotope's lead compound for cartilage regeneration. The study's authors, which include Nanotope co-founder Dr. Samuel Stupp, showed that Nanotope's bioactive nanofiber system promotes the growth of new cartilage in a rabbit model. The treatment is engineered to repair cartilage defects by working with an animal's own bone marrow stem cells to stimulate the production of new natural cartilage.
Speaking today at a workshop on 'Cancer treatment: a priority for patients in Europe', cancer specialists and representatives of cancer patients called on the UK and Luxembourg governments to put access to quality cancer treatment at the top of their health agendas during their Presidencies of the EU in 2005.
Some seniors, including some who voted for President Barack Obama, are concerned that health care reform could cut some of their Medicare benefits.
