In a study that included more than 2,700 women receiving care in primary care clinics, those who were screened for partner violence and received a partner violence resource list did not experience significant differences for several outcomes, including overall quality of life, general health, and recurrence of partner violence, compared to women who just received a partner violence resource list, according to a study in the August 15 issue of JAMA, a theme issue on violence and human rights.
New research conducted at the University of Kansas Medical Center could make treatment for gastrointestinal cancers safer- while also helping to mitigate the dangers of nuclear accidents and terrorist attacks.
Drs. Russell Glasgow, Cathy Bradly and colleagues at the Adult and Child Consortium for Health Outcomes and Delivery Science at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado have received an NIH Center grant from the National Cancer Institute to advance implementation science and cancer control (1P50CA244688-01).
