Researchers at Linköping University have developed a treatment for depression among people with cardiovascular disease.
Scientists have provided new insights into how and why the brain is organised - knowledge which could eventually inform diagnosis of and treatments for conditions like Alzheimer's disease and autism.
Chrono Therapeutics, a pioneer in digital drug products, today announced an investment by Rock Health, the leading seed fund in digital health, to support the advancement of Chrono's SmartStop programmable transdermal drug delivery system and real-time behavioral support program for smoking cessation.
Writing in KPLU's "Humanosphere" blog, Tom Paulson responds to last week's announcement of results from an ongoing clinical trial of an experimental malaria vaccine, saying, "Despite the hype and fanfare, many experts at the Seattle meeting said this experimental vaccine actually so far represents only incremental progress - a scientific achievement which may still turn out to have little practical utility in the real world."
Over 4 million Canadians suffer from arthritis, but only a tiny percentage of them are involved in influencing arthritis research in Canada. The Consumer Advisory Council (CAC) of the Canadian Arthritis Network (CAN) hopes to change that by launching a Highly Qualified Consumer (HQC) Database that will store information about Canadians willing to volunteer as consultants or collaborators to arthritis researchers.
