Heart health risk factors and lifestyle choices, such as exercise, learning new things and staying socially connected, are associated with maintaining brain health as we age according to a new report.
The study, performed at the University of California-San Francisco, of 58 breast cancer patients found that the best way to predict a patient's recurrence-free survival is to review the initial MR examination (before the patient has chemotherapy) and the final MR examination (after chemotherapy has been completed).
The East African on Monday examined how a campaign recently launched in Kenya to increase awareness about HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis will affect health care workers in the country.
Prof. Lars Leksell (1907-1986), inventor of the radiosurgical instrument that bears his name and a faculty member of Karolinska University Hospital (Solna, Sweden), performed the world's first Gamma Knife® surgery at nearby Sophiahemmet Hospital, the location of the first Leksell Gamma Knife. In April 2008, Medicare changed reimbursement to cover up to 200 catheters per month, instead of the previous 4 that it covered.
