According to a new study researchers have warned that at least one in five Australians over the age of 55 have a 30 percent chance of suffering a potentially fatal heart attack or stroke in the next five years.

New data shows significant rise in healthcare premiums

Management consultant Hay Group expects that annual premium increases for health coverage will average approximately 9 percent during 2010. This estimate represents the increase in premiums before any changes in plan design, medical management or plan administration.

Counting will continue after 'official' deadline

The counting goes on as federal and state exchange officials tally consumers who are taking advantage of various extensions to sign up late. Efforts to determine whether the overhaul is working also continue.
