On the first stop of a 10-day tour of Africa, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stopped at the Phillipe Maguilen Senghor Health Center in Dakar, Senegal, where Awa Marie Coll-Seck, the country's Minister of Health, "explained to Secretary Clinton how these operational centers dramatically improve maternal and child health," according to a post in USAID's "IMPACTblog."
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has been named the nation's top children's cancer hospital in the 2010-11 Best Children's Hospital rankings published in U.S. News & World Report. St. Jude received the best overall score summarizing quality of care. St. Jude is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children and serves as an international resource to physicians and researchers.
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Sanofi today announced positive results from a Phase 2b dose-ranging study of dupilumab, an investigational therapy, in adult patients with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD), a serious, chronic form of eczema.
Failure to treat patients with bacteremia with an appropriate antibiotic is particularly harmful in elderly patients, report researchers.
