GenomeDx Biosciences today announced that a draft local coverage determination (LCD) for its Decipher® Prostate Cancer Classifier has been published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) describing a coverage and payment policy for use of the Decipher test in men who have undergone radical prostatectomy.
American Realty Capital Healthcare Trust, Inc. ("ARC Healthcare") announced today that, pursuant to the prior authorization of its board of directors, ARC Healthcare intends to continue payment of monthly distributions at an annualized rate of $0.68 per share.
The WHO announced Friday it was expanding its efforts to control tobacco use in Africa, Reuters/ABC News reports. The agency "said it wanted to stop tobacco from becoming as prevalent in Africa as it is in other parts of the world and would set up a regional hub in 2010 for health experts to work with governments to introduce anti-smoking policies," the news service writes.
A study posted today (Wednesday, August 25) at the online site of the journal Biology of Reproduction reports that exposure of pregnant female mice to the endocrine-disrupting chemical bisphenol A may produce adverse reproductive consequences on gene expression in fetal ovaries as early as 12 hours after the mother has first been exposed to the chemical.
Some health law proponents are urging officials to create "copper" plans that offer lower deductibles, but higher out-of-pocket costs than the health law's gold, silver and bronze plans.
