A Saint Louis University School of Nursing faculty member is going to mark the first day of fall with a simple warning to senior adults: Don't let fear of falling stand in the way of being active and engaged with the world around you.
A major challenge facing today's health care community is to find ways to lower costs without compromising clinical quality. Taking that challenge to task, researchers at Medstar Health and Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington DC, report success in using a concept called "value-based analysis," which simultaneously measures quality and cost and addresses inefficiencies in care.
Two new studies led by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco have found some antibiotics may be overused for children with asthma and urinary tract infections.
Diabetes in Control (http://www.diabetesincontrol.com), an e-newsletter dedicated to keeping clinicians current with the rapid changes in diabetes care, expands its quest to provide them with the best tools for their practice.
Researchers from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital discovered that blockages in the right coronary artery and those in bending areas of the coronary artery are the most common places for coronary dissection, a tear in the artery that can occur during balloon angioplasty of the coronary arteries.
