Delaying school start times could help Canadian teenagers sleep better - giving them a better chance for success, according to McGill University researchers.
Manchester-based Synexus, the world's largest multi-national company dedicated to the recruitment and running of clinical trials, has recently invested in Doppler Ultrasound equipment for each of its seven UK-based Dedicated Research Centres. After training for all Synexus' doctors, the facilities are now being used as part of the drive to recruit patients to a new diabetes study.
The National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare (National Council) today announced a new eight-month pilot program designed to advance standards of care for people living with schizophrenia. This initiative at 10 community behavioral health organizations nationwide is designed to improve the daily functioning of people with schizophrenia and raise expectations for what is achievable.
Researchers from New England report in a new study that using a tumor marker, serum CA 19-9, combined with an endoscopic ultrasound if the tumor marker is elevated, is more likely to detect stage 1 pancreatic cancer in a high-risk population than by using the standard means of detection.
A new study carried out in pig cells suggests previous infection with swine influenza virus (SIV) can protect against the development of porcine respiratory coronavirus (PRCoV) if there is a zero- or three-day interval between infections.
