Ipsen, a global biopharmaceutical group, today announced that its partner Roche today announced the implementation of a risk mitigation plan in the taspoglutide Phase III programme. Taspoglutide, the first once weekly glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogue based on a human sequence, originating from Ipsen's research is developed by Roche. This compound is similar to the natural hormone GLP-1 which has a key role in blood sugar regulation.
In March, researchers in the Department of Biomedical Engineering- a shared department in the schools of Dental Medicine, Medicine, and Engineering-began to develop a new, low-cost, CRISPR-based diagnostic platform to detect infectious diseases, including HIV virus, the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).
Low salt foods are just as safe or safer than high salt level products in spite of expectations that cutting salt levels in food would increase the risk of spoilage by bacteria, say scientists today (Tuesday 4 September 2007) at the Society for General Microbiology¡¦s 161st Meeting at the University of Edinburgh, UK, which runs from 3-6 September 2007.
