The state Department of Managed Health Care said Monday that it ordered Health Net, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of California to stop denying medically necessary therapy in cases of developmental disabilities, autism and other medical conditions.

Prolonged weight loss programs offer greater benefits to overweight people, study shows

Extending NHS weight loss programmes from one session per week for 12-weeks to one session per week for a year helped people who are overweight to lose more weight and keep it off for longer, according to a study published in The Lancet, and led by researchers from the University of Cambridge, University of Liverpool and University of Oxford.

Lung cancer in non-smokers is sixth biggest cancer killer

While lung cancer in smokers and former smokers is the biggest cancer killer by far, lung cancer in people who have never smoked is - by itself - the sixth biggest cancer killer in the United States.
