Researchers have used artificial intelligence to reduce the 'communication gap' for nonverbal people with motor disabilities who rely on computers to converse with others.
"But it's a marathon whereas you keep going, the trail gets rockier and then you lose your shoes," the 27-year-old said. "It gets harder as you get older. Things start to fail and all you can think about is how much worse it's going to get down the road."
Sorin Group announced today the first inclusion of a patient in the Clepsydra clinical trial. The study will investigate the sensitivity to changes in heart failure status of PhD™, a unique diagnostic feature using the dual sensor technology of minute ventilation and accelerometer to monitor patient's breathing and activity levels every day.
University of Notre Dame researchers, as part of a collaborative effort, have identified a protein that potentially could be a target for drugs that would help people recover faster from jet lag and better adjust their circadian rhythms during rotational shift work.
In the latest issue of Science, Katrin Amunts and Thomas Lippert explain how advances in neuroscience demand high-performance computing technology and will ultimately need exascale computing power.
