Researchers with The Ohio State University College of Medicine, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children's Hospital have found that a simple urine test can rapidly detect one of the world's deadliest pregnancy-related conditions, which could have a major impact on global health.
Researchers at the Beihang University School of Biological Science and Medical Engineering, led by Dr. Yubo Fan, have discovered that Biphasic Electrical stimulation (BES), a non-chemical procedure, may be used as a strategy for preventing cell apoptosis in stem cell-based transplantation therapy.
Experts say it is too early to assess if an international initiative, Roll Back Malaria (RBM), has had any impact on combating malaria.
Bariatric surgery can cut the incidence of heart attack, stroke or death by as much as 50 percent, according to a new study presented here at the 28th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery.
