In an invited presentation today before the annual meeting of the American Academy of Neurology, Knopp Neurosciences Inc. described further encouraging trends observed in a previously reported Phase 2 study of KNS-760704 (dexpramipexole) in ALS.
Stereotypies - repetitive behaviors such as rocking, flapping, spinning objects and head-banging – are commonly seen in people with autism or mental retardation. They can also be acquired by children exposed to severe neglect and deprivation, along with declines in IQ, mental health and language.
A new study led by Queen's University researcher Colin Funk provides indirect support for the use of low-dose aspirin therapy in preventing and treating pre-eclampsia – a pregnancy disorder that is often harmful to both mother and fetus.
Being able to grow old and die in one's own home is something people want, including those who live alone. Behind the life situation of the latter one finds many different relationship constellations and support networks.
