A new study from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia finds that a skin patch may be useful in treating children with a painful, chronic condition called eosinophilic esophagitis triggered by milk.
BioLight Life Sciences Investments, a company focused primarily on the discovery, development and commercialization of breakthrough ophthalmic diagnostics and therapeutics, announced today that it has entered into a joint financing agreement (the "Agreement") with two Asia-based venture capital firms (the "New Investors"), pursuant to which BioLight and the New Investors will make a direct equity investment in BioLight's IOPtima Ltd. subsidiary via a private placement.
A study out of Drexel University's Dornsife School of Public Health linked past experiences with bias and discrimination and avoidance of doctors in women with higher body weights.
For the first time gene therapy for cystic fibrosis has shown a significant benefit in lung function compared with placebo, in a phase 2 randomised trial published in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine journal. The technique replaces the defective gene response for cystic fibrosis by using inhaled molecules of DNA to deliver a normal working copy of the gene to lung cells.
