Pressure BioSciences, Inc. and Target Discovery, Inc.,, today announced a strategic product licensing, manufacturing, co-marketing, and collaborative research and development agreement. Under the terms of the Agreement, PBI has been licensed by TDI to manufacture and sell a highly innovative line of chemicals used in the preparation of tissues for scientific analysis.
A provocative new study has found that people who respond to stressful situations with angry facial expressions, rather than fearful expressions, are less likely to suffer such ill effects of stress as high blood pressure and high stress hormone secretion.
The H1N1 (swine) flu is blamed for 557 deaths in Brazil, "making it the country with the highest number of fatalities in the world from the disease," according to the country's health ministry, Agence France-Presse reports. "Brazil's health ministry said in a statement the government was freeing up one billion dollars to buy 73 million doses of a new vaccine being developed against swine flu, as well as Tamiflu stocks, hospital equipment and diagnostic gear," the news service writes (8/26).
Exelixis, Inc. announced today that thirteen abstracts related to the company's development candidates have been accepted for presentation at the 2009 AACR-NCI-EORTC International Conference on Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics, which is being held November 15-19 in Boston. Interim data from ongoing phase 1 clinical trials of XL147 and XL765 will be reported in four poster presentations.
Scientists in The Netherlands have revealed how gluten plays a role in the development of a rare form of cancer, for some people with coeliac disease.
