"Chin augmentation has increased approximately 70% in the last year, that's an astonishing number," says Dr. Darrick Antell, A spokesperson for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. "We're much more aware of how we look and we're much more critical of ourselves," he said. He says a strong chin not only improves a patient's self esteem, it may also boost their bottom line. Experts say that may be part of the reason chin implants saw the biggest surge of any type of cosmetic procedure in the last year.
College women who frequently watch television or who believe that the content is real, tend to endorse the gender roles that are portrayed often on TV, says a University of Michigan researcher.
On Capitol Hill, the lines are being drawn surrounding spending issues, and funding for the Obama administration's health law will be a flashpoint in the battle. Meanwhile, congressional backers of the 9/11 health bill continue to press ahead. And in action late on Sunday the Senate gives the nod to the food safety bill.
The College of American Pathologists, the American Society of Clinical Oncology's ASCO University, and the Association for Molecular Pathology recently announced their partnership in the creation of the Molecular Oncology Tumor Board series, an online and user-driven resource designed to help cancer care providers with the interpretation and understanding of tumor molecular profiling tests and studies.
