Today, one of the largest clinical bone events in the Asia-Pacific region opened at the Hong Kong Conference and Exhibition Centre, drawing close to 850 international delegates from over 60 countries. The IOF Regionals 4th Asia-Pacific Osteoporosis Meeting, which continues through to December 15, is organized by the International Osteoporosis Foundation in cooperation with the Hong Kong Osteoporosis Foundation and the Osteoporosis Society of Hong Kong.
The cure rate for pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) might continue to rise with improved use of conventional therapies. But even more effective and less toxic therapies based on genetic and pharmacogenetic studies might one day push the success rate close to 100 percent, according to an article published by investigators at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the April 8 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.
A neuroimaging study is the first to show that white matter damage caused by severe obstructive sleep apnea can be reversed by continuous positive airway pressure therapy.
