According to the latest ratings of two watchdog groups, medical schools are "improving their conflict-of-interest policies to police their ties with drug and medical-device makers. But more than half the schools still have inadequate policies or no policies at all," the Wall Street Journal's Health Blog reports.
The use of testosterone assays for patient care and research is on the rise as new research links testosterone to a variety of diseases and conditions. Although the assays are heavily used, discrepancies and inaccuracies in measurements resulting from the various assays are widespread.
Researchers analyzed data from the Traumatic Brain Injury Model System National Data and Statistical Center to study the contribution of race and ethnicity to retention of participants in TBI research.
