The human genome sequence, initially completed in draft form nearly a decade ago, has revolutionized biological research. But most research findings are buried in the scientific literature, and linking basic biological processes to genomic information can be difficult without substantial effort or training. A new resource that provides easy access to information about genes and their biological functions was just released by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press.
U.S. District Judge Wilhelmina M. Wright for the District of Minnesota entered a consent decree of permanent injunction against Todd & Patty Meech Dairy Farm of Sebeka, Minn., and the farm's owners, Todd Meech and Patty Meech, for introducing adulterated meat into interstate commerce and for failing to comply with federal requirements for administering drugs to food-producing animals.
Arrayit Corporation, a leader in life sciences and healthcare technology, announces today that the company has chosen the Premarket Approval pathway for its OvaDx Pre-Symptomatic Ovarian Cancer Screening Test. While the standard for a PMA is higher than for a 510(k), the company believes that a PMA OvaDx submission can achieve a Class III PMA approval, the most stringent approval level granted by the FDA for in vitro diagnostic devices.
Two novel biologics are currently being investigated for their potential benefit to multiple myeloma patients in separate ongoing clinical trials at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
