The Queensland Health Minister Stephen Robertson has been put over a barrel and forced to release the information he received following the sexual assault of a nurse working on Marbuig Island in the Torres Strait, last month.
Each year, hundreds of orthopaedic surgeons travel to developing countries to treat and care for patients. Yet despite the successful completion of many surgical procedures on patients who may not otherwise have access to care, adequate follow-up-so critical to optimal outcomes-is not always available or guaranteed.
While emotional barriers such as embarrassment were thought to be the main reason for not attending, this latest study in the Journal of Medical Screening suggests that practical difficulties may be more important.
New clinical trial data, recently published in The Lancet's Infectious Diseases, presents an initial report on the effect of an inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, CoronaVac, on children and adolescents from ages 3-17 in a double-blind, randomized setting.
