The American Dental Association (ADA) acknowledged today that it deeply regrets not taking a stronger stand against discriminatory membership practices during the pre-civil rights era.
The first comprehensive analysis of an animal's immune response to the 1918 influenza virus provides new insights into the killer flu, report federally supported scientists in an article appearing online in the journal Nature.

The authors of the study hope to use the findings to launch a widespread initiative to better understand acute undifferentiated febrile illnesses in West Africa.
