At first, the teacher described her six-year-old student as absentminded, a daydreamer. The boy was having difficulty paying attention in class. Newly published findings about the phylogenetics and systematics of some previously known, but also other yet to be identified species of Old World Leaf-nosed bats, provide the first contribution to a recently launched collection of research articles, whose task is to help scientists from across disciplines to better understand potential hosts and vectors of zoonotic diseases, such as the Coronavirus.
A study from Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center researchers - the first to examine the effects of combined radiation and chemotherapy on the healthy brain tissue of glioblastoma patients - reveals not only specific structural changes within patients' brains but also that the effect of cancer therapy on the normal brain appears to be progressive and continues even after radiation therapy has ceased.
Pfizer Canada is pleased to announce the sixth round of recipients of the Pfizer Cardiovascular Research Awards Program. The program, first launched in October 2005, was developed to fund and support cardiovascular research in Canada.
