Interventions increase the chances of succeeding in changing and maintaining a new behavior in the long run. This is showed in a recently published study from CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University.
In a study that included data for more than 20,000 children and adolescents, higher amounts of time with moderate to vigorous physical activity were associated with better cardiometabolic risk factors (such as measures of cholesterol, blood pressure and waist size), regardless of the amount of time spent sedentary, according to a study in the February 15 issue of JAMA.
A shorter life may be the price an organism pays for coping with the natural assaults of daily living, according to researchers at the National Institutes of Health and their colleagues in Japan.
This new software was developed by researchers at the Department of Programming Languages and Systems of the University of Granada.. So far, there were only special social networks specifically developed for visually impaired people, such as Blindworlds. Researchers at the University of Granada have developed a software package that adapts Facebook for visually impaired people.
Researchers at Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia have identified a subset of ovarian cancer patients who appear to respond better than others to gefitinib, or Iressa. The research was presented today at the 96th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research in Anaheim, Calif.
