Following two decades of intensive research and development efforts, MagForce Nanotechnologies AG, a Berlin-based medical technology company founded in 1997, has received European regulatory approval for its Nano-Cancer® therapy.
Using new technologies that make it easier to sequence the human genome, researchers at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center have identified a series of genes that become fused when their chromosomes trade places with each other.
Scientists have devised a newer form of blood test called TARDIS to diagnose breast cancer more accurately. This could help many thousands of women avoid needless breast biopsies and removals, as well as helping to follow up the treatment of breast cancer.
Veterans and others with Parkinson's disease who undergo deep brain stimulation may benefit from research co-sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs and published recently in the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine.
More women die of breast cancer in areas where mammography centers are few and far between, according to research by a Medical College of Georgia radiology resident.
