Accellent Inc. announced today that it has adopted a plan to refinance (the "Refinancing") its existing senior secured credit facilities and replace them with indebtedness that has longer-dated maturities. The plan, which has been unanimously approved by the Company's Board of Directors, would strengthen the Company's capital structure by extending nearer term maturities such that the Company has no maturities until November 2013.
Scientists at the Center for Infection and Immunity at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health report elevated levels of a pathogen responsible for the tick-borne disease babesiosis in Suffolk County, New York, where rates are the highest in the state. Results are published in the journal mSphere.
A team of researchers at The Scripps Research Institute has reconstructed the "fossil record" of the immune systems of a group of human cancer patients to investigate if they had ever produced antibodies against their disease.
