In light of a recent federal court decision, four national organizations representing dentists, physicians and veterinarians called on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) today to exclude health professionals from controversial new regulation intended to combat identity theft.
A new study analyzed the post-boost binding and functional capacity of the humoral response induced by the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines.
Hana Biosciences, a biopharmaceutical company focused on strengthening the foundation of cancer care, today announced that data regarding Marqibo for treatment of adults with relapsed/refractory acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) will be the subject of two presentations at the 2010 Annual Meeting and Exposition of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) being held in Orlando, Florida from December 4-7, 2010.
According to the latest WHO report out Wednesday, the number of confirmed H1N1 (swine) flu deaths since its emergence in April has reached 1,799 - a jump from 1,462 deaths since the agency's last update, Agence France-Presse/the Australian reports.
The health care debate has already become a proxy for 2010 election fights, with candidates in both parties wielding the issue, according to The Wall Street Journal: "In Kentucky, the two leading Democrats seeking an open Senate seat are battling over who has been most committed to the health-care law." Meanwhile, "[two] potential 2012 presidential candidates, Republicans Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney, both issued fund-raising appeals to their supporters, saying they would use the money to fight for the GOP position on the health-care law" (Wallsten, 3/25).
