Lucideon, the materials technology company, is pleased to announce that its Head of Medical Materials, Dr Xiang Zhang, has recently published his third book, Science and Principles of Biodegradable and Bioresorbable Medical Polymers.
A large study of US adults, conducted collaboratively by state health departments and the CDC, has shown that over a third of the population are regularly not getting enough sleep. This is the first study to obtain self-reported estimates of sleep duration for all 50 US states and the District of Columbia.
By identifying a key signaling defect within a specific membrane structure in all cells, University of California, Irvine researchers believe, they have found both a possible reliable biomarker for diagnosing certain forms of autism and a potential therapeutic target.
The international AIDS conference in Washington has already made two points clear. There is no prospect that scientists will any time soon find the ultimate solutions to the AIDS epidemic, namely a vaccine that would prevent infection with the AIDS virus or a "cure" for people already infected with the virus.
Sysmex, a global leader in medical diagnostic testing equipment and information systems technology, today announced a three-year, dual source urinalysis contract agreement with Amerinet. Amerinet members have immediate purchasing/leasing access to Sysmex automated urine particle analyzers, reagents, controls, and service.
