Research conducted by Boston College neuroscientist Sean MacEvoy and colleague Russell Epstein of the University of Pennsylvania finds evidence of a new way of considering how the brain processes and recognizes a person's surroundings, according to a paper published in the latest issue of Nature Neuroscience.
Someone who binge eats consumes an objectively large amount of food while feeling a loss of control over eating. When episodes occur weekly for several months, the action moves into the realm of binge-eating disorder.
Women who develop blood clots while taking tamoxifen for early-stage breast cancer are more likely to carry a faulty version of a gene involved in clotting than those who do not develop blood clots, a US study has found.
