The European ME Alliance (EMEA) is calling on Europe's health ministers to initiate an immediate Europe-wide prohibition of blood donation from people who have been diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS).

Receiving a boost to support its Breast Surgery Fellowship Program, The Cancer Institute of New Jersey has been awarded a $75,000 grant from The Breast Cancer Alliance for academic year 2012-2013.
Women, nonwhites, and people in the southern United States who were newly infected with HIV and followed for an average of four years experienced greater HIV/AIDS-related morbidity compared to men and people of other races living in other regions of the country. The findings, published in the February 15 issue of The Journal of Infectious Diseases, underscore the urgent need to improve the health of these populations in order to reduce HIV-related morbidity and mortality in the U.S.

ADVANCE-PD is a multinational Phase III trial of its late-stage product IPX066 in advanced Parkinson's disease (PD) patients with motor fluctuations. IPX066 is an investigational extended release carbidopa-levodopa product intended to rapidly achieve and sustain effective blood concentrations of levodopa, potentially improving PD clinical symptom management.
