Endo announced on April 11, 2011, that it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire AMS, a leading provider of world-class devices and therapies for male and female pelvic health, for approximately $2.9 billion in cash.
Bristol-Myers Squibb Company and Gilead Sciences, Inc. today announced a licensing agreement for Bristol-Myers Squibb to develop and commercialize a fixed-dose combination containing Bristol-Myers Squibb's protease inhibitor REYATAZ (atazanavir sulfate) and Gilead's cobicistat, a pharmacoenhancing or "boosting" agent that increases blood levels of certain HIV medicines to potentially allow for one pill once daily dosing.
There are lots of ways to treat a heart attack - CPR, aspirin, clot-busters and more. Now CU medical school researchers have found a new candidate: Intense light.
Postmenopausal women who are "apple" shaped rather than "pear" shaped are at greater risk of heart and blood vessel problems, even if they have a normal, healthy body mass index according to new research.
A study by UCLA suggests that use of the Internet by seniors helps to "stimulate and possibly improve brain functioning." Dr. Gary Small, a professor at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA, noted "Internet searching engages complicated brain activity, which may help exercise and improve brain function."
