Australian researchers awarded funding for new HIV vaccines
Australian researchers at Monash University have been awarded $488,125 in development grants by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) for projects exploring new vaccines for HIV, the development of medical diagnostic devices and the development of drugs to treat metastatic cancers.
UCR study: Surgery associated with higher survival of patients with HER2-positive stage 4 breast cancer
A student at the University of California, Riverside, presented research results at the annual meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research, or AACR, in Atlanta showing that surgery is associated with higher survival rates for patients with HER2-positive stage 4 breast cancer compared with those who did not undergo surgery.

"Their aim is to shift deep-rooted views in their devout Islamic society that contraception is a sin," according to the blog.
New tool assesses performance of everyday activities in people with TBI
A recent article by Kessler Foundation researchers describes Actual Reality; as a new tool for assessing performance of activities of everyday life (ADL) in people with traumatic brain injury (TBI).
