The French health authority has revealed that it is rejecting half of all NeeS (non-eCTD electronic submissions) dossiers because they have been poorly formatted and do not meet basic validation standards. This is costing pharmaceutical companies time and money, as they re-work the submission format, and incur delays in getting their submissions reviewed and approved. Two-thirds of all electronic submissions to AFSSAPS currently are in the NeeS format.
The Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) and the Association for Frontotemporal Dementias (AFTD) announced today the recipients of their third annual research award, Frontotemporal Dementia Drug Discovery Program. The goal of the program is to accelerate the development of novel therapies for frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The program will provide a total of $1,200,000 in research grants over four years.

Premature babies often spend the first several weeks of life in neonatal intensive care units, where, ideally, they are protected from too much noise stimulation. However, researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis have found that preemies may be exposed to noise levels higher than those deemed safe by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
